Vol. 525 No. 3

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Pádraic McCormack

Question:

353 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding the provision of a sewerage treatment plant for Headford, County Galway; when work will start on this much needed facility for the town; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25105/00]

I understand Galway County Council is currently arranging for investigations with a view to submitting revised contract documents for this scheme to my Department.

The scheme is included in the Department's Water Services Investment Programme 2000-2002 to advance through planning. This is the first phase of a rolling three-year programme that will continue up the end of the National Development Plan in 2006. Consideration will be given to further progressing the scheme in that context.
Question No. 354 taken with Question No. 307.
