413 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Education and Science the position with an application for major refurbishment from a school (details supplied); the current position of the application; when approval will be given; the planning stages necessary; the estimated cost; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application has been received from the management authority of the school to which the Deputy refers for refurbishment works to be carried out at the school. The proposed refurbishment involves roof works, replacement of windows and related improvement works. Following a recent visit to the school by a senior official from my Department, the school was advised that the works would be best progressed as one project in a number of phases.
My Department recently approved the appointment of a design team to prepare a report with costings on the required works at the school. My Department currently awaits this report.
