Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Live Exports.

Enda Kenny

Question:

221 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when the vessel M.V. Francoise will resume carrying live cattle exports; if his attention has been drawn to the urgency of the licence being restored in accordance with appropriate conditions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25804/00]

My Department last week advised the operators of the M.V. Francoise that it is prepared to allow the carriage of livestock on the vessel to be resumed subject to certain conditions. The operators have responded positively and provided there is adherence in practice to such conditions the service could resume within the next week or so.
