Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Radiotherapy Services.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

255 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Health and Children when the expert review group to examine the appropriate further development of radiotherapy services here will report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25473/00]

Austin Deasy

Question:

285 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children the projected cost of providing a radiotherapy unit at Waterford Regional Hospital; the estimated cost of transporting patients to and from Dublin from the south east region per annum. [25864/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 255 and 285 together.

I understand the work of the expert group on radiotherapy services is ongoing and I look forward to receiving the report in the new year. The needs of Waterford Regional Hospital and the region in general will be considered in the context of this report.
