Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Bernard Allen

Question:

272 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of people waiting for physiotherapy at the Cork University Hospital, County Cork; and if he will state the longest length of time that a patient is waiting on such treatment. [25681/00]

The Deputy will be aware that the provision of services at Cork University Hospital is in the first instance the responsibility of the Southern Health Board and that the scheduling of hospital appointments is solely a matter for the relevant hospital clinician to determine based upon clinical priority.

I have, therefore, asked the chief executive officer at the Southern Health Board to forward the information directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
