Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Willie Penrose

Question:

391 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will, in conjunction with Bus Éireann, examine the feasibility of a proposal to reroute a school bus (details supplied) in County Westmeath which collects students from the greater Castletown area for transport to Kilbeggan secondary school in view of the fact that the proposed rerouting which would not inconvenience the present collection of other pupils, would facilitate six other families which have a number of children who would be collected on the rerouting proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25799/00]

My Department has requested a report from the transport liaison officer for County Westmeath in relation to school transport for the pupils referred to by the Deputy.

The Deputy will be advised of the position as soon as this report has been received and assessed.
