Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Health and Safety Regulations.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

395 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will publish the consultant's report regarding the safety conditions at St. Wolstan's secondary school, Celbridge, County Kildare; if he will encourage dialogue between the local authority, his Department and the school authorities in the context of this report, with a view to taking the necessary measures to achieve optimum safety conditions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25870/00]

I wish to inform the Deputy that my Department has appointed consultants to prepare a report regarding safety conditions at St. Wolstan's community school, Celbridge, County Kildare. This report is still awaited in my Department's post-primary building unit. It is not my intention to publish the report, however the report will be made available on request.

My Department will of course encourage dialogue between the local authority, this Department and the school authorities in the context of this report and will ensure that the necessary measures are put in place in order to achieve optimum safety conditions.
