Mitchell asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands her views on the proposed leisure and conference development at Durrow Abbey, County Offaly in the context of the protection of historical artefacts at the abbey; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The planning application for the proposed development at Durrow has been appealed to An Bord Pleanála, which is an independent body. Since An Bord Pleanála has not yet reached a decision on the matter it is entirely inappropriate for me to make any comments on the case at this stage.
