Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Proposed Legislation.

David Stanton

Question:

186 Mr. Stanton asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if legislation will be required to sell Whitegate Oil Refinery, County Cork, and other assets of the Irish National Petroleum Corporation Limited; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [25670/00]

The office of the Attorney General has now advised my Department that if the proposal to sell the assets of the Irish National Petroleum Corporation is to go ahead, then there should be legislation which would provide for performance by me of any functions which I might exercise in relation to the proposed sale.
