Vol. 526 No. 1

Written Answers. - Care of the Elderly.

Question:

199 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of long-term care beds for the elderly in each facility in the Eastern Regional Health Authority area; the number of beds that are empty; the number of people waiting for long-term care; the number of staff required; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26016/00]

The provision of health services in the Eastern Regional Health Authority area is a matter for the authority itself.

I have asked the regional chief executive of the authority to compile the information requested and forward it to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
