Vol. 526 No. 2

Written Answers. - Work Permits.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

55 Mr. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when a work permit will issue in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who has applied through his employer; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [26217/00]

An application for a work permit in respect of the individual concerned was received by my Department on 25 October.

Because of the large number of applications for such permits received by my Department in recent months the average waiting time for dealing with applications at present is about four weeks. I will arrange to have this application examined as quickly as possible.
