Vol. 526 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

John McGuinness

Question:

259 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in arranging an appointment for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for an assessment for a hip operation; and if a waiting list exists for such assessments. [26822/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Kilkenny is, in this instance, the statutory responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and reply to the Deputy directly.
