Noel Ahern

Question:

285 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Health and Children if a medical visit in respect of an examination for a driving licence for a pensioner is covered by the medical card. [27022/00]

The general medical services scheme provides a treatment and curative service for medical card patients, including the provision of normal sickness certificates. The scheme does not extend to the issue of certificates relating to such matters as driving licences, insurance or assurance policies.
