Vol. 526 No. 6

Written Answers. - Driving Tests.

Donal Moynihan

Question:

323 Mr. D. Moynihan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if, as part of his Department's strategic management plan, it is envisaged that Mallow driving test centre would be made a full-time testing base. [27612/00]

While a driver tester is not assigned to the Mallow driving test centre on a permanent basis, the equivalent of 1.5 driver testers per week have been scheduled for testing duties in the Mallow driving test centre this year. This has kept waiting lists in Mallow broadly in line with the national average. I have no proposals at this time to designate Mallow as a permanent headquarter centre.
