Vol. 527 No. 2

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Michael Ring

Question:

108 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo cannot get an appointment at an outpatients' orthopaedic clinic in County Galway; the further reason she is being left in pain without an appointment; if this matter will be investigated; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28079/00]

The provision of medical treatment to eligible persons in County Galway is, in this instance the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter and reply to the Deputy directly.
