Vol. 527 No. 2

Written Answers. - European Economic Projections.

Michael Noonan

Question:

53 Mr. Noonan asked the Minister for Finance if he and his EU colleagues have any input into the economic projections to be published by the European Central Bank in December 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27970/00]

The answer to the Deputy's question is "no" in relation to both myself and my Department. The ECB would of course have access to the full range of published CSO and Eurostat data. It would also have access to the regular EU Commission forecasts for the EU and the member states. I cannot answer in respect of each and every one of my 14 EU colleagues.
