176 Mr. D. Carey asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his attention has been drawn to the fact that ship inspectors who operate on behalf of his Department have been overlooked for a grade improvement since 1995. [28608/00]

Discussions regarding PCW restructuring for these staff are proceeding between my Department and the union concerned.

It is hoped to conclude these negotiations in the near future.
