Question:

191 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the concerns of management and staff at St. Joseph's School for Deaf Boys, Dublin 7, with regard to the inadequate salary scale payable to a person (details supplied); if, in view of this person's qualifications and special skills, he will make arrangements to upgrade this post and ensure the continuation of the benefits accruing to the development of education for the deaf. I am aware of the concerns to which the Deputy refers.

My Department is currently examining the particular circumstances of this case. When this examination has been completed, my Department will be in contact with the school authorities.
