Vol. 527 No. 5

Written Answers. - Purchase of Mosney Camp.

Question:

202 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the agreement that has been reached regarding the purchase of the Mosney Camp, County Meath; the amount of money spent in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29070/00]

No agreement has been reached in relation to the purchase of Mosney holiday centre. However, the Directorate for Asylum Support Services has entered into a contract for services agreement with the centre's owner for the use of part of the accommodation there for housing asylum seekers. While the terms of the agreement include a confidentiality clause in line with normal commercial contracts of this nature, I can state that its financial terms are simi lar to other such contracts entered into for the provision of accommodation for asylum seekers.
