217 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will report on the progress in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who has applied for residency status on the basis of parentage of Irish born children; the length of time procedures are likely to take in this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29163/00]

The person in question was recently granted permission to remain on the basis of his parentage of Irish born children.
