Question:

119 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Defence the number of freedom of information requests received by his Department; the number of requests rejected; if he will review the treatment of freedom of information requests; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29460/00]

A total of 332 freedom of information requests were received by my Department since the Freedom of Information Act came into force on 21 April 1998, 75 of which were refused. Freedom of information requests are dealt with by my Department in accordance with the provisions of the Act.
