141 Mr. Kirk asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he is considering the introduction of legislation to establish a legal framework for commonage shareholder division; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29501/00]

I do not propose to introduce such legislation. Commonage land in this country is for the most part privately owned. Decisions affecting this land are a matter for the individual owners or shareholders themselves.
