Question:

222 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of applications under the special housing aid for the elderly scheme which were approved in each health board area up to 1 December 2000; and the figures for each county in the Western Health Board region. [29405/00]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 221 and 222 together.

As the Deputy is aware, the housing aid scheme for the elderly is administered by the health boards on behalf of the Department of Environment and Local Government. I have asked the chief executive officers of the boards to investigate these matters and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
