Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Regional Health Authorities.

Jack Wall

Question:

254 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the number of beds designated for respite care in County Kildare; if he has satisfied himself that this meets the demand for the service in County Kildare; if not, if he will investigate the provision of extra beds to meet the demand; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29733/00]

The provision of health services in County Kildare is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority.

I have asked the regional chief executive officer of the authority to investigate this issue and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Jack Wall

Question:

255 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has satisfied himself with the ambulance service in the South West Health Board region; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29734/00]

The provision of ambulance services is in this instance the responsibility of the South Western Area Health Board. I have, therefore, asked the chief executive at the board to look into the issues raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him in this regard.
