288 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if a survey on the number of vacant private houses which have been vacant for three years has been carried out; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28054/00]

My Department has not carried out a survey of the number of vacant private houses or the duration such houses have been vacant.
