Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

313 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in relation to the provision of the funding needed by Kildare County Council to provide for the various water schemes in hand or proposed throughout County Kildare; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29790/00]

My Department's current objectives in relation to water supplies for County Kildare are set out in the Water Services Investment Programme, 2000-2002, a copy of which is available in the Oireachtas library. This is the first phase of a rolling three-year programme that will be augmented on an annual basis up to end of the national development plan in 2006. Funding will be provided to Kildare County, as required, to enable approved schemes to be advanced in accordance with the timetable set out in the programme.

Question No. 314 taken with No. 21.
