Michael Ring

Question:

176 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be paid a disability allowance. [29939/00]

The person concerned applied for disability allowance on 7 September 2000. He was examined by a medical assessor of my Department on the 19 October 2000. In the light of the medical assessors report, a deciding officer decided that he was not entitled to a disability allowance.

He was notified of this decision and the reasons for it, on 11 December 2000 as well as of his right of appeal to the social welfare appeals office.

This parliamentary question has been accepted as an appeal on his behalf.
