Vol. 528 No. 3

Written Answers. - Hospital Waiting Lists.

Willie Penrose

Question:

141 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the steps he will take to have a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath immediately admitted to St. James's Hospital, Dublin 8, for cardiac surgery; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [30285/00]

The provision of medical treatment in this case is the responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority in the first instance. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
