Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Counselling of Rape Victims.

Nora Owen

Question:

623 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Health and Children the support services available for counselling of rape victims in each health board area; if he will have investigations made into the lack of services for certain rape victims who, because of their age, are either too young for adult services and too old for services offered by Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children, Dublin 12; the plans he has to address this inadequacy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1542/01]

I provided the information on the services available in each health board area to the Deputy by letter dated 27 September 2000. I have requested the health boards to provide updated information and I will forward it to the Deputy on receipt.
