Vol. 529 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Deployment.

Tony Gregory

Question:

987 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of garda available for foot patrol duties and full-time community Garda activities in the Cabra east area of Dublin 7. [30506/00]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the Cabra east area of Dublin 7 is policed by Mountjoy Garda station, the manpower strength, all ranks, of which is 72, as at 24 January 2001. Two members of the community policing unit are allocated to the Cabra east area of the sub-district. I am further informed by the Garda authorities that, for operational reasons, it is not proposed to divulge the number of personnel available for beat duty in a particular area at a given time.
