Question:

1116 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Education and Science the progress with regard to structural repairs and comprehensive refurbishment of Birr community school, County Offaly; if the school authorities will be furnished with a copy of the report carried out by consultants in January 1999; the action which is recommended in this report; the works recommended to be carried out to this school; and if he will make a full statement on his plans and proposals for this school. [30422/00]

My Department's planning and building unit recently completed its analysis of the report carried out on Birr community school and will shortly be arranging for the appointment of a design team through the European Journal for a major refurbishment of the school. I have requested officials in my Department to issue a copy of the report to the school authorities as soon as possible.
