Michael Ring

Question:

175 Mr. Ring asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the progress made to date by the north Mayo task force regarding jobs; the number of times and the frequency with which the task force has met; the progress being made in relation to job formation; the number of jobs created since the task force was established; and the locations and numbers of jobs created. [2194/01]

The north Mayo enterprise initiative, chaired by the Mayo county manager, was established on 10 July 1997. The task force has had 23 meetings at different intervals. Sub-committee meetings on macro and micro industry were also held. The interim report of the initiative was submitted in November 1997. Details of the number of jobs created in agency assisted companies since the initiative was established are being compiled and will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as possible.
