Question:245 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of convicted sex offenders being housed in prisons here; and the number on remand or going through the courts. [3731/01]
Written Answers. - Sexual Offences.
There were 348 convicted sex offenders held in custody in prisons on 23 January 2001. There were 32 persons in custody facing further court appearances in relation to such charges.
