Vol. 530 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tuskar Rock Air Crash.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

39 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Public Enterprise if the report of the international investigators on the Aer Lingus Viscount crash off Tuskar Rock was presented to her in early December 2000 as anticipated by her in her reply to Parliamentary Question No. 39 on 19 October 2000; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3792/01]

At the request of the international investigators following an oral progress report to me on their work on 1 December 2000, I have agreed to extend the timeframe for receipt of their report up to the end of April 2001. This extension will permit the investigators to complete visits to various locations in the United Kingdom which have been agreed by the UK Ministry of Defence and the manufacturer of the Viscount. I intend to publish the report of the investigators.
