Vol. 530 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tree Felling.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

72 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources if his attention has been drawn to any instances where tree felling licences have been issued where the subject trees had been felled prior to the date of application for a felling licence; if so, if such a licence would grant retrospective authority for the prior felling of the subject trees; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3626/01]

The Minister is aware of one such case, which is the subject of a departmental investigation. Legal advice has also been sought on the matter.
