Vol. 530 No. 3

Written Answers. - Industrial Disputes.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

99 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Public Enterprise the number of industrial disputes currently ongoing at Dublin Airport; the number of companies involved; the efforts being made to bring about a resolution and if she will make a statement on the matter. [3959/01]

Employees involved in ground handling operations for British Midland at Dublin Airport are involved in a dispute concerning that company's proposals to transfer the operations to a new company. Certain groups of staff at Aer Lingus are also in dispute with their employer. Efforts are being made through the State's labour relations agencies to resolve these disputes and I urge the various parties to co-operate fully with those agencies in seeking resolutions.

Question No. 100 answered with Question No. 97.
