Ahern asked the Minister for Education and Science if an application for refurbishment of a college (details supplied) in Dublin 9 has been made to his Department; the works which are under consideration; when a decision on the application is expected; and if he will make a statement on the matter. An application for capital funding at the college to which the Deputy refers has been received in the building unit of my Department.
Consistent with normal practice, the planning unit of my Department is assessing the long-term enrolment of the college in question. As soon as this assessment is complete, the scope of works to be undertaken at the college will become clearer.
