Question:

80 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Defence the number of Army vehicles sold for scrap; and the resale value of these as motor vehicles. [4307/01]

Army scrap vehicles are sold by weight. They are disposed of by way of tender competition and, under the current contract, approximately 186 tonnes have been sold realising an estimated amount of £24,000. The duration of the current contract is 1 January 2000 to 31 June 2001.
