275 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children the plans he has regarding the demand by the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland to introduce legislation to implement a 1997 EU directive relating to the protection of patients undergoing exposure to radiation in the course of medical or dental treatment. [4860/01]

A statutory instrument to transpose the EU directive referred to is currently being prepared in my Department and should be ready for introduction by mid-year.
