Vol. 530 No. 6

Written Answers. - Land Registry.

Jim Higgins

Question:

356 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the Land Registry Office or any of his predecessors received complaints that a transfer deed dated 29 November 1984 bore a forged signature; the name of the complainant; the names of the solicitors involved; and the steps which were taken to establish the authenticity of the allegation (details supplied). [4519/01]

My predecessor received correspondence in relation to this matter. The dealing involved the transfer of property to the pur chaser mentioned by the Deputy and the release of a charge on that property. In the time available for the answer of parliamentary questions it has not been possible to obtain the complete file on this matter. Accordingly, I will correspond further with the Deputy with full details on this matter in the near future.
