398 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will appoint a full-time classroom assistant from September 2001 to provide full-time help for a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4432/01]
An application for special needs assistant support for the person in question was received by my Department on 13 February 2001. This application is being investigated by my Department's inspectorate. My Department will be in touch with the school authorities in relation to this matter as soon as this investigation is completed.
