Question:63 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Finance if he will include provisions in the forthcoming Finance Bill for a tax on plastic bags; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4417/01]
Written Answers. - Waste Management.
There is no such provision included in the Finance Bill for a special levy on plastic bags in addition to VAT. However, I understand a separate Waste Management (Amendment) Bill is being prepared by the Minister for the Environment and Local Government which will provide for levies and charges.
