Question:

63 Mr. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the number of non-established civil servants employed by her in her office; the number within her Department; the salary scale, conditions, terms of employment and function in each case; the names of the persons or firms so employed; and if she will make a statement on the matter. In addition to non-established civil servants employed in my office, Ms Ann Burke is employed as a personal assistant to Minister of State, Deputy Noel Treacy, and Mr. John Lahart is employed as a personal assistant to Minister of State, Deputy Tom Kitt. Both are on a salary scale of £23,846 to £28,134. In addition, Ms Tracey Young is employed as a personal secretary to Minister of State, Deputy Tom Kitt, and is on a salary scale of £10,171.20 to £22,300.72. The Department employs two civilian drivers for each Minister of State and they are paid £18,021.64 per annum. These appointments are subject to the Civil Service Regulation Acts, 1956 to 1996, and any other Act for the time being in force relating to the civil service.
The Department also employs 15 cleaners, three service attendants and 18 service officers in a non-established capacity. The pay scales for these grades range from £9,990.24 to £14,084.72.
