74 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will intervene in the case of a person (details supplied) and rescind the decision made in relation to this person's 2000 cattle headage and suckler cow application; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The person named applied on eight beef cows under the 2000 suckler cow premium scheme and on eight beef cows and 15 other animals under the 2000 cattle headage scheme. When the application was being processed for payment, it was discovered that two of the beef cows applied on were entered on the claim twice and were subsequently deleted without penalty. The applicant was notified of the decision in writing on 26 June 2000.
The person in question was paid a 60% advance of £530.60 on six suckler cows on 16 October 2000. He was paid his full entitlement of £877.13 under the 2000 cattle headage scheme on 25 October 2000. This is in accordance with clause 27 of the terms and conditions governing the scheme which sets limits on the amount of grant to be paid per forage hectare.
The forage area as shown on the 2000 area aid application of the person named was 15.35 hectares. Based on this area, the grant payable was £877.13. If no restriction applied, the grant would have been £951.40. Accordingly, the grant of the person named was restricted by the difference between the two amounts, £74.27. The person named has been given the opportunity to appeal the decision to the appeals unit.
75 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive a REP scheme payment. [6339/01]
There was no payment due to the person named on 31 January 2001. His contract under REPS 1 finished on 31 December 2000 and all payments due under this contract were made. An application under the new REP scheme was received from the person named on 26 February 2001 and is being processed.
