Dáil Éireann debate -
Thursday, 1 Mar 2001

Vol. 531 No. 5

Business of Dáil.

It is proposed, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders, that the following arrangements shall apply for the debate under Standing Order 31: the statement of the main spokesperson for the Labour Party, of the Minister or Minister of State and of the main spokesperson for the Fine Gael Party shall not exceed 20 minutes in each case; the statement of the Green Party shall not exceed ten minutes; the second round of contributions from members of the Government, the Fine Gael Party, the Labour Party and Independent Members shall not exceed ten minutes; the procedure will be repeated for as long as the debate shall last, and Members may share time.

I will return to the House later to propose arrangements for tomorrow's sitting. It is intended that the Dáil will meet from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. I will return with an order concerning that matter. This order deals only with the arrangements for the debate under Standing Order 31 on foot and mouth disease.

Is that agreed? Agreed.
