Question:181 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received a report on pathology services in the Western Health Board; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6553/01]

The Western Health Board has submitted a report, Towards a Regional Pathology Service. The report has been discussed in my Department with officials from the board. The recommendations of the report will be considered in the context of overall service developments and competing priorities having regard to the availability of funding in 2002.
