Vol. 532 No. 1

Written Answers. - Registration of Title.

Michael Ring

Question:

311 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when a dealing in the land registry office for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be completed. [6806/01]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this is an application for Conversion of Title which was lodged on 9 October 2000. I am further informed that due to the complicated nature of the application, it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage. However, I can assure the Deputy that the application is receiving attention.

John Perry

Question:

312 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will intervene with the Land Registry Office on behalf of a person (details supplied) and have this person's section 49 application immediately registered; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6834/01]

I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this dealing refers to an application under section 49 – acquisition of title by virtue of long possession – of the Registration of Title Act, 1964, which was lodged on 8 November, 2000.

I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners can take some time to process. Accordingly it is not possible to estimate a completion date at this stage. However, I can assure the Deputy that the application is receiving attention.
