Question:387 Mr. J. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science the status of an application for funding by Carlow youth services; and when a decision is likely in this case. [6860/01]

My Department has received a request from Carlow Regional Youth Service for financial assistance to establish a youth information centre in Carlow. My Department is at present giving consideration to this request and to other applications made for youth work funding in 2001, having regard to available financial resources. A decision will be given in this case as soon as possible.
