Vol. 532 No. 1

Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

113 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Meath has been refused continuation of the REP scheme following the death of his father; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6535/01]

When a REPS participant dies before completing his or her contract, participation may be transferred to the spouse and-or dependent relatives if they wish. However, no such application was received in this case and accordingly the contract was terminated. It is of course open to the person named to make an application in his own right.
