Vol. 532 No. 2

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Ivan Yates

Question:

53 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Education and Science his views on the availability or otherwise of first aid kits in all school buses; and if any first aid training is available to or obligatory for school bus drivers. [6892/01]

My colleague, Deputy O'Dea, who has responsibility for school transport, announced in January that, as part of a number of improvements to the school transport scheme, it is intended that first aid kits will be in place on all school buses by the end of the year. The question of first-aid training for school bus drivers will also be addressed by my Department.
